The golf course is carved out of scenic woodland in Swope Park. This tight layout, with breathtaking elevation changes, along with its undulated fairways and greens, provides a true test of golf. Features include bent grass tees and greens, premier white sand bunkers, fescue rough, and electric golf cars.

Originally opened in 1915, the course was completely re-designed by A.W. Tillinghast in 1934. In 2025, the course went through a complete historic restoration to bring it back to Tillinghast's original intent.
